New Age Spirituality: New Age Lessons From the Acim - Lessons Learned by David and Irina Gaffney

Acim, also known as Acme, is an aura reading developed and refined by David Hoffmeister. A Course in Miracles, a companion to The Secret, was first published in 1976. The author had intended to provide a "new perception" of the ways and means by which love can manifest in one's life. His main goal was to provide a completely new and revolutionary way of looking at love. Although this new perception hasn't yet been widely accepted by the mainstream, there are still those who use the methods within the framework of A Course in Miracles as part of their daily meditation.

A Course in Miracles by David Hoffmeister outlines twelve steps that one must take in order to experience all the great rewards that are associated with the working with the "light". As stated by Helen Schucman, one of the foremost proponents of the method, the twelve steps of the acim workbook, "are not a set of simple steps; they are not a collection of rote instructions." Rather, the process of "transforming" takes place within a context which is described as being "interactive and participatory." This is because the student must be willing and able to "put his or her entire self into the process of transforming their relationship with the divine light."

The twelve steps of the study of acim, as described by Helen Schucman, include: remembering the love you have received, forgiving those who have hurt you, and connecting your heart to the divine light. In addition to these basic steps, there is also a workbook by David Hoffmeister, The Works of a Divine Shepherd, which goes into greater detail concerning the specifics of applying the principles of acim and forgiving others. A more detailed look into the works of David and his wife, Irina, can be found in the book, Light Bearers, which is available through the link below.

The works of David and Irina are not simply books, but are rather videos and audio files that will assist students to fully understand and apply the principles of the acim miracle. They are excellent resources for those who may be questioning whether or not the bible is true. This particular workbook explains how to perform miracle acts by using the power of the Holy Spirit. It provides a complete explanation of how to perform a miracle from start to finish. It even goes so far as to state how one can even pray for the coming of the messiah.

It is important to realize that what the authors of the works of David and Irina are saying is not against the commonly held views of mankind regarding the nature of God, the Christian church, and the existence of angels. Rather, it is in defense of these common views and is presented in a manner that is inviting to people of all ages and religious persuasions. As we all know, most people believe that God does not speak to humans on any foreign or unknown plane of existence. According to the teachings of the acim, this is not merely "traditional wisdom" but is instead the plain truth that has been handed down by godly men through the centuries.

The teachings of the acim are not meant to condemn mankind, but are rather meant to encourage mankind to turn away from the snares of the fallen angels and walk the path of the cross. In other words, man must be taught to be a sinner once again, by turning into the one true God that he is made in the image of. Through the teachings of David and Irina, that happens. Through the workbook that they have created and have given the public access to, people can now look at the lives of these two great teachers and find many lessons that can be applied to their daily lives. The works of David and Irina are not meant to condemn or teach against any religion or faith, but to offer forgiveness to those who have turned away from the righteous path of God. Through the works of the acim and the way it has brought people closer to God while at the same time opening people's eyes to the face of the risen Christ, the world has truly come into a new age.
